Haros Rebuilt

The old city of Haros is no more – 300 years of Highborn habitation gone thanks to the Druj and Llofir. The Haros tributary and a great limestone bluff, which leads onto the southern spur of the Chalcis Mount hills, remain as defining natural features, with the massive weirwood river gate posts and a forlorn white granite bell tower as the only reminders of the past. Around these features there are now the beginnings of new human habitation – small stone and wood structures that outline larger and more sturdy Ambitions, and many, many tents. An earthen rampart and wooden palisade marked with watch towers provides some protection and watchfulness but the lands beyond are wild and untamed.

The people who call Haros home are hardy and focused, with little taste for ceremony or focusing on the past – at least for now; they are still Highborn, after all. Ambition, Prosperity and Vigilance are virtues often seen and heard in the daily banter and interactions of the Harossan. Around them material, goods and travellers flow, taking advantage of the river and paths that make this location an ideal depot and connection point. For visitors, the accommodation and facilities are only marginally better than what can be found at Anvil and most are simply passing through to other places; north deeper into Reikos; east to Therunin, west to Casinea or south to Bastion, Necropolis and the coast.
