An ancient limestone cliff overlooking the surging river Haros as it flows into the larger Couros, the Cliff of Eyes is as much a part of the Suns as the Chapterhouse. When outsiders ask about the multitude of small entrances carved into the cliff, the locals explain that it is where the chapter’s dead are buried. When the wind blows against the northwest facing cliffs, the sound of many wind chimes can be heard faintly.
When the Season of Mushrooms consumed Reikos, the Chapter members and many of the townspeople fled to the Cliff for safety. With fire and sword the guardians and cataphracts of the chapter kept the minions of Llofir at bay, and stopped them from consuming the sacred dead interred in the tombs within the Cliffs.
Within the winding paths of the Cliff a number of natural crystal mana sites are still found, and maintained by the magisters of the Chapter.
Since retaking Haros no draughir have been allowed to entomb themselves in the Cliff of Eyes, but that may be because none have yet descended into the madness of their bloodline…
The Tomb of the Nine
Deep in the heart of the Cliff of Eyes a great vaulted chamber has been carved out. Filled with the chill of winter, the tomb houses the bodies of the Nine; the nine heroes who once lead the Chapter and who fell fighting the Grendel at Sarvos. The tomb is guarded by two cataphracts in ceremonial armour, and is often visited by members of the chapter and people of Haros alike. Each of the Nine are preserved with Winter Magic, dressed in regalia and bearing symbols of their station and former professions.
The Broken Regio
Once a powerful winter regio, the area atop the Cliff of Eyes is now shunned by the people of Haros. Many tell of the battle that took place there against the Druj, whereas others whisper that it was there that the Suns called forth the Winter’s Ghosts that wracked all of Reikos, denying the Druj their prize and terrorising orc and human alike. All power is gone from the Regio, but still the place remains a cold, lifeless place.
